ABOUT the author

Ramon A. Beras

Ramón A. Beras spent decades building a successful media career before discovering his true calling as an author. Growing up as one of eleven children in the Dominican Republic, he learned early that dignity doesn’t depend on circumstances. His parents, Feliz María Beras and Isaura Dolores Rodríguez, both now deceased, instilled values that would prove essential during future trials.

Political persecution during President Joaquín Balaguer’s administration forced sixteen-year-old Ramón to flee to Venezuela. There, he found his voice in broadcasting and launched his first radio program. His career flourished after immigrating to the United States in 1984, where he produced television programming in New York.

Returning to the Dominican Republic, he established himself in journalism, working for major news organizations and contributing to national publications. His professional achievements gave him a platform and communication skills that would later serve a very different purpose.

The death of his daughter Sindia Mercedes changed everything. This tragedy, rather than ending his faith, deepened it in ways he never expected. He learned that genuine belief in God operates differently during actual crisis than during comfortable times. Married to Rebeca Pichardo, Ramón now uses his writing ability to help others understand how faith sustains us when everything else fails entirely.
